aicep Global Parques at Atlantic Convergence 2025

aicep Global Parques took part in the 2nd edition of Atlantic Convergence | Bridging Continents with Digital Infrastructure, held in Lisbon from 28 to 30 October, bringing together international decision-makers and experts from the digital infrastructure sector. The event fostered debate on the future of Atlantic connectivity and Portugal’s strategic role along the Europe–America axis.

The participation of aicep Global Parques highlighted the growing role of Sines, and in particular the ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone, in Europe’s digital transition and technological autonomy. CEO Isabel Caldeira Cardoso joined the panel “Empowering Portugal’s Digital Autonomy: Infrastructure, Security, and Civil Society”, where she presented the competitive advantages of ZILS and SinesTech – Innovation & Data Center Hub.

“Sines is consolidating its position as a central platform for interconnectivity and innovation in the Atlantic. At Atlantic Convergence, we showcased Portugal, and especially the Sines region and ZILS, as one of Europe’s leading hubs for digital infrastructure projects, from data centres to submarine cable landings, which are key to Europe’s growth and digital independence,” stated Isabel Caldeira Cardoso.

Organised by entities such as EllaLink and DE-CIX, Atlantic Convergence focused on developing the Atlantic’s digital ecosystem, exploring topics such as submarine cables, data centres and interconnectivity.

The participation of aicep Global Parques was supported by the Invest In Alentejo 2.0 Initiative, led by ADRAL – Alentejo Regional Development Agency, which promotes the region internationally and attracts investment to strategic sectors such as digitalisation and innovation.

The company’s presence at the event strengthened Sines’ alignment with global trends in the digital economy, reinforcing the region’s role within the European Atlantic Platform “EU Data-Gateway Platforms” and its relevance as a technological and logistical hub of excellence for the future of international connectivity.
