Segunda sessão com clientes da ZILS sobre a futura Comunidade de Energia Renovável em Sines.

ZILS advances plans for a Renewable Energy Community in Sines

The future Renewable Energy Community (REC) in Sines took another step forward with the second meeting with Park clients, held on 29 September at ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone.

The meeting provided an update on the project and presented the business model for the future REC, by Orlando Paraíba, from ENA – Agência de Energia e Ambiente da Arrábida, as well as the proposed Statutes and Internal Regulations, presented by Teresa Pato Ribeiro, from aicep Global Parques’ Legal Department. The level of interest among clients who had not attended the first meeting in joining the future community was also assessed.

The event included a welcome from Miguel Borralho, Director of ZILS, and continued with a round-table discussion with representatives from DGEG, ADENE and E-REDES, focused on clarifying legal requirements, responsibilities, potential constraints and timelines for the establishment and operation of the REC.

The initiative is part of the European WESHARE project, co-funded by the European Union’s LIFE Programme, which has Sines as one of its pilot projects, alongside Antwerp, Belgium, and Getafe, Spain. The project promotes energy sharing between companies, contributing to greater energy efficiency, lower costs and enhanced energy security.
