New Ordinance regulates grid connections in high-demand areas
On 9 January, Ordinance No. 15/2026/1 was published, regulating the exceptional procedure for allocating electricity grid connection capacity for consumption facilities located in high-demand areas, under Decree-Law No. 80/2023, as currently amended.
This ordinance follows Decree-Law No. 120/2025, of 14 November, which introduced changes to the previous regime, providing greater flexibility to the procedure and delegating to the ordinance the detailed rules for its implementation. It is a key instrument for the implementation or expansion of strategic industrial projects, particularly regarding their electricity grid connection capacity.
