Portugal-Mozambique Forum strengthens economic cooperation

The Portugal–Mozambique Economic Forum took place on December 9 at the Palácio da Bolsa in Porto, organized by the CIP – Portuguese Business Confederation in collaboration with AICEP. The event ran in parallel with the VI Portugal–Mozambique Summit and included the presence of Isabel Caldeira Cardoso, as CEO of aicep Global Parques and President of APPE – Portuguese Association of Business Parks. The Forum also counted on the support of APIEX, CTA, CCPM, and CCMP.

The session featured the presence of the President of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo, and the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro. The opening was led by the Portuguese Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida, and the Mozambican Minister of Economy, Basílio Zefanias Muhate, followed by high-level institutional and business interventions.

Speakers included Madalena Oliveira e Silva (AICEP), Armindo Monteiro (CIP), representatives from investment support agencies, and Mozambican ministers Américo Muchanga and João Jorge Matlombe, in the panel on Infrastructure and Digital Economy.

The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation and foster new investment opportunities and partnerships between Portuguese and Mozambican companies in strategic sectors with high growth potential.
