Secretary of State for Energy and EU Ambassadors visit ZILS under the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU
On 15 October, aicep Global Parques welcomed to ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone the Ambassadors and other accredited representatives from around 20 European embassies, as part of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, under the theme “A strong Europe in a changing world.”
During the visit, the diplomats were received by the Executive Board of aicep Global Parques, who presented the development strategy for ZILS as an international hub for green energy and decarbonisation projects, fostering an ecosystem that offers unique conditions for sustainable investment, innovation, and responsible economic growth.
Under Denmark’s leadership, the Presidency of the Council of the EU has prioritised strengthening a stronger and more resilient Europe, capable of taking responsibility for its own security and competitiveness. The green transition is viewed as an essential driver in achieving a safer, more competitive, and environmentally responsible Europe, principles that ZILS fully embodies in its development model.
The event also included the presence of the Secretary of State for Energy, Mr. Jean Barroca, who, through his address, reaffirmed Portugal’s commitment to the energy transition and the decarbonisation of the economy, creating the necessary conditions to attract responsible and sustainable investment.
This visit further reinforces the role of ZILS and aicep Global Parques in consolidating the Sines region as a key centre for investment projects at both the national and European levels.
