The SINES DC’s first building, SIN01, is now operational
The SINES DC Project, located in the ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone, is progressing rapidly.
The pilot building of Start Campus, the first of six, covering 21,600 square meters with an installed capacity of 14 MW, became operational at the beginning of January, as announced by the company.
Start Campus is developing SINES DC, considered as the largest data center campus in Europe, with a total IT capacity of 1.2 GW. This project is also considered the most extensive and environmentally sustainable data ecosystem in Europe, offering global connectivity and market-leading solutions. According to the company, SINES DC provides powered shell, turn-key, and build-to-suit solutions, perfectly tailored to meet the growing demands of the sector, with state-of-the-art offerings designed for Artificial Intelligence. SINES DC also incorporates the most advanced liquid cooling technologies in a versatile and scalable model.
It is worth highlighting that Start Campus is part of the Sines Tech community, which has positioned Portugal, particularly Sines, as a strategic and secure digital hub for the installation of submarine cables and large-scale data centers. This initiative reinforces the country’s role in the European and global digital transition.
