KEME ENERGY Develops Green Hydrogen and Energy Storage Project at ZILS
On 16 June 2026, aicep Global Parques signed a surface rights agreement with KEME ENERGY for the development of an integrated green hydrogen production, energy storage and sustainable mobility project at ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone.
The project will be implemented on a total area of 9,443.84 m² and includes the installation of a renewable hydrogen production unit based on electrolysis technology, a battery energy storage system and two multi-fuel stations supporting sustainable mobility, including green hydrogen refuelling and ultra-fast electric vehicle charging.
This initiative is aligned with KEME ENERGY’s strategy to develop innovative solutions for the energy transition and further strengthens ZILS as a prime location for industrial and energy projects that support decarbonisation and sustainability goals.
Benefiting from Sines’ industrial, energy and logistics infrastructure, as well as its growing relevance within the national and European energy ecosystem, the project will contribute to the diversification of energy solutions available in the region and to the development of new value chains associated with renewable hydrogen.
Renewable hydrogen is considered one of the key technologies for the decarbonisation of industry, transport and energy systems. The implementation of this project at ZILS further strengthens Sines’ position as one of Portugal’s leading hubs for the development of renewable energy, energy storage and energy transition solutions.
