On the 18th of June, the Ports of Sines and Algarve Authority (APS) organizes a webinar and international conference to mark the Day of the Port of Sines. The port, industrial and logistical complex of Sines was born in 1971 with the publication of Decree-Law No. 270/71, which constituted the Sines Area Office. And after fifty years we are witnessing a different and constantly changing world.

The conference “Imagine Sines – Sustainability and Innovation connecting the future” aims to discuss the challenges and envision the future of Sines as an efficient and dynamic Iberian multi-port system, integrated in the main transport networks.

With three panels on the themes “Energy transition and circular economy”, “Innovation and digitalization” and “Global logistics chains”, the event will have speakers from some of the leading organizations in the international maritime-port sector.

The first panel “Energy transition and circular economy” will be attended by representatives from REN, the Port of Rotterdam, the Port of Amsterdam and the Ministry of the Environment of the Climate Action. The panel “Innovation and digitization” will have interventions by the International Association of Ports and Harbors, the International Port Community Systems Association, Nokia and COO Nxtport.
