Railway line modernisation strengthens ZILS connectivity
A railway line modernisation project is planned across the municipalities of Grândola, Sines and Santiago do Cacém, representing an investment of €16.5 million and with a completion period of 540 days.
The project will improve the infrastructure and strengthen the railway connection in the region, contributing to greater efficiency in industrial and logistics operations.
For ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone, this improvement is particularly significant, enhancing the movement of goods and the connection between the Port of Sines, industrial and logistics areas, and national and international markets.
The project, which will not receive funding from European Union funds, represents a further investment in strengthening the infrastructure that supports economic activity in the region.
Improved accessibility is essential to the competitiveness of the business parks managed by aicep Global Parques and to the development of the regions in which they are located, creating more favourable conditions for business establishment, investment attraction and regional economic development.
