Sines strengthens its strategic role in global digital connectivity
The new connectivity corridor will enable direct links between the Caribbean, Europe, the United States and Brazil, increasing the capacity, redundancy and resilience of international communications. The project is also aligned with the European Union’s strategic priorities to strengthen the security and resilience of digital infrastructures and international data connections, under the Global Gateway Strategy and the EU – Latin America and Caribbean Digital Alliance.
This development further strengthens the relevance of Sines and of ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone within the international digital ecosystem, in a context of growing demand for technological infrastructure, data centres and global connectivity.
